Altona’s Post Office Celebrates 50 Years
June 10, 2019Seaholme turns 100
January 3, 2020November 9, 1969 saw the final services held in the old church of St Eanswythe in Queen Street, Altona. The following day the old church building was demolished and a week later the first sod was turned on the new building site by Bishop Dann. All the parishioners lined the proposed wall line to symbolise that they the parishioners were the church and that the building was no more than an expression of the meeting place.
