St Eanswythe, 100 years of Worship
April 11, 2026It all started in May 1961 through the efforts of a number of local coucillors that the Altona Historical Society commenced and then took up residence within the Altona Homestead. Many members over the years have researched and recorded the history of the area of Altona. The endevours of the early pioneers and early residents who through their endeavours moulded and built this community and its many organisations intop what it is today. In 1996 the historical society merged with the Laverton-Point Cook Historical forming the Altona Laverton Historical Society. We thank everyone who has contrubuted in making our society what it is today as we celebrate 65 years of recording, retelling and passing on to new generations the story of Altona and Laverton.
