The recent Open House Melbourne event allowed us to open the Homestead and showcase Altona and surrounding suburbs a large audience of people from across Melbourne and beyond, and covering all age groups. The day gave our volunteers the chance to talk about the Homestead, the Langhorne family, and all things Altona/Hobsons Bay. The interest in our suburbs and its history is staggering and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Over the course of the day (from 9.00am until 3.00pm) the Homestead was never empty and the conversations never stopped. We estimated that we had over 130 people come through the Homestead during the day.
