Commencing Monday 6 May for approximately seven weeks the Altona Homestead will be closed on a Tuesday due to major works on the exterior of the building. Given that it is over 170 years old a little TLC is due.

The works will involve the painting of the roof, eaves, guttering, downpipes, windows, fences etc and will ensure that the Homestead is fit and well to go on for another 170 years.

As this will involve quite a number of tradespeople working around the building we will therefore be required to close the building on a Tuesday for the next seven weeks to ensure everyone’s safety and ensure we do not hold up this work. We will inform everyone of progress as we get closer to the completion date around mid June. It will also mean that we will not be operating our Devonshire Teas in June and July. We trust that you will understand.
